The Board of Directors of National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines (Nat Re) has announced that President and CEO Allan R. Santos will retire on 1 October 2026, with Alexander L. Reyes appointed as his successor.
Santos is retiring following nine years of dedicated leadership and service to Nat Re.
He became President and CEO of Nat Re in 2018. Under his leadership, the company achieved sustainable growth and record financial performance, resulting in an improved credit rating in recent years and its first dividend payout in a decade.
Santos also played a key role in expanding Nat Re’s international business footprint and establishing the company as a trusted regional partner while championing climate resilience and sustainable insurance development across the region.
Reyes, who served as Nat Re’s Senior Vice President and Head of Non-life Reinsurance from 2014 to 2021, will succeed Santos effective 1 October 2026.

He brings decades of executive experience in the insurance industry and a deep understanding of the company.
The Nat Re Board of Directors said it is confident that Reyes is uniquely qualified to lead the company into its next phase of growth.
To ensure a seamless handover of executive responsibilities, Santos and Reyes will work closely together over the coming months.
