BUFFALO, N.Y. Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John C. Williams will visit the University at Buffalo next week as part of a multiday visit to Western New York.

Williams will meet with UB leadership to hear about new university initiatives and its role in the local economy.

He will also take part in a roundtable organized by the School of Managements Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and its Center for Supply Chain Analytics to learn about the economic environment for local businesses.

The visit will conclude at the Student Union, where Williams will deliver remarks on the economic outlook and monetary policy, and take questions from students and business leaders.

When: 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Where: Student Union Theater on North Campus, 50 Lee Road, Amherst, N.Y. 14228.

Background: These meetings serve to inform Williams on regional issues and are part of the New York Feds ongoing efforts to assess economic conditions across the Federal Reserves Second District, which includes New York State, northern New Jersey, southwestern Connecticut, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The two-day visit will begin in Jamestown and include stops at the National Comedy Center and Cummins Inc.s Jamestown Engine Plant. He will also visit Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park to hear about the anticipated economic impact of the new home of the Buffalo Bills.

Williams will also meet with officials at Buffalo City Hall to learn about economic activity in the region, and stop at Erie County Medical Center for a roundtable discussion with community development leaders on health and economic mobility.
