Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated, a global life and health reinsurer, has announced the appointment of Senan O’Loughlin as Executive Vice President, Head of the Americas, with the appointment taking effect on 22 June.
As part of his new responsibilities, O’Loughlin will also become a member of the RGA Executive Committee. He will take charge of the company’s Americas business, overseeing efforts to support growth, enhance its position in the market and deliver strong financial results across the region.
His remit will include responsibility for regional strategy and day-to-day operations, covering areas such as capital allocation, client engagement and the development of new products and solutions. He will report to Ron Herrmann, Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President, Americas and EMEA at RGA.
The company noted that O’Loughlin joined RGA in 2021 and most recently held the position of Executive Vice President, Head of US Individual Markets. RGA highlighted his extensive industry background, which spans more than 30 years across both the insurance and reinsurance sectors in international markets.
O’Loughlin is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in the United Kingdom and the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School at University College Dublin.
“Senan is a highly respected leader with deep industry expertise and a strong track record of delivering results,” added Herrmann. “Since joining RGA, he has played an important role in advancing our US Individual Markets business and strengthening our client relationships. We are confident that Senan’s leadership, strategic vision, and global perspective will continue to drive growth and innovation across the Americas region.”
